The Elbert County Solid Waste Department operates collection centers and a transfer station for collection of all waste and contracts with private entities to transport waste to private, out-of-county disposal facilities.
Recycled material is accepted at all convenience centers and the transfer station. The County coordinates the sale of this material to the private market for secondary use.
Elbert County is a member of the Keep Georgia Beautiful (KGB) program via Keep Elbert County Beautiful (KECB). Elbert County and KECB work together to facilitate events and outreach efforts to offer recycling incentives and improve community knowledge in regard to solid waste, recycling, and beautification.
